Inbound Services

At VoiceHub, we offer provisioning for both Australian and New Zealand geographic numbers. For the majority of geographic locations and areas, these numbers are kept in stock to reduce provisioning lead times.

We also offer Australian Freephone (1800) Local Rate (13/1300) numbers and New Zealand toll free numbers, routed either directly to your network, or through our advanced IN platform.

Leveraging our global partners, we can also offer ITFS numbers sourced from around the world.

If you already have your own numbers, moving your numbers is easy with Voicehub. While porting can be complex, we provide you with the knowledge, tools and support to facilitate the best porting experience. We can port your numbers to our network, with most types of numbers in Australia and New Zealand covered.

Call Termination

With highly available switching infrastructure and a depth of routing options from quality suppliers to ensure resilience, VoiceHub delivers your traffic to its destination reliably and efficiently.

The VoiceHub switch offers the flexibility to customise outbound routing as required, varying anything from available Calls Per Second (CPS), supplier selection or whitelisting a subset of destinations. Plus, we can present any codec and will ensure it is transcoded optimally for the termination network.

We offer a full A to Z termination list, using tier 1 termination suppliers, for any international traffic you want to send our way. White and blacklisting of destinations is available to help mitigate the risk of fraudulent traffic. Trend based alerting is also in place for all international traffic passed through VoiceHub.

We also allow you to dynamically burst your channel capacity to cater for special events or unusual customer demand.

Virtual Numbers

Virtual numbers provide the flexibility and capability to maintain ownership of numbers not directly linked to a service on your network.

In addition to geographic Australian and New Zealand numbers, VoiceHub offers international numbers or you can port your own, which can be forwarded to your preferred number anywhere in the world. SMS sent to your virtual numbers can be delivered to your network via SMPP, HTTP or SMTP protocols.

Use virtual numbers to hold a business mobile number through staff turnover, have international dial-in numbers for a conference bridge or service, use mobile CLI for outbound calling or hold your home number without a home landline.

With VoiceHub, virtual numbers can be held on our network and either parked, diverted to another number (on or off-net) or to a voicemail box.

Hosted Voice Services

At VoiceHub, we offer a range of hosted voice services that encompass a broad selection of hosted PBX features and capabilities accessible via the internet or direct connect.

Our hosted service offering is a flexible, reliable, and scalable new generation communication system catering to the requirements of SMBs, enterprises and businesses utilising the latest technologies.

SMS

VoiceHub offers an array of flexible messaging services through the VoiceHub SMS platform – far exceeding simple send and receive text messages.

Our SMS gateway is backed by Amazon Cloud infrastructure for high-availability and fault tolerance. With support for in excess of 10,000 Transactions Per Second (TPS), the platform caters for the wholesale and bulk SMS termination market, while also offering the flexibility and features to suit the enterprise and SMB market. The gateway supports all industry standard SMS exchange protocols with uncomplicated access provided through one simple REST API.

Integrate directly through an SMPP bind or with our REST API, to send bulk SMS, allow your customers to interact with a chatbot, send marketing campaigns, support multi-factor authentication or send alerts automatically from your network or application.

  • Multiple interconnections (SMPP v3.4 including TLS support, HTTPS REST API)
  • 2-way SMS Traffic (Send/Receive)
  • Multipart, unicode, flash SMS, and schedule delivery are all supported
  • Full DLR support
  • Support for custom SMSCs (third party SMSC APIs)
  • Support of SMS modifiers: On-the-fly customisable modifications to processed SMS traffic Message Prioritisation, Retry, Filtering, and Throttling (SMS per second) to fit supplier capability
  • White-labelled, multi-tier gateway partition capability
  • Billing management with pre-paid & post-paid support. Configurable rates per customer.
  • VPN connectivity supported

VoiceHub enables wholesale customers with full access to all SMS Gateway features and functionality as a direct SMS service via the web portal, an SMPP bind or our high-speed REST API.

Alternatively, VoiceHub offers the SMS service as an SMS ‘Gateway as a Service’ model, achieved through a multi-tier capable, white-labelled partition of the gateway. By managing your own partition, you will have full access to the features and functionality of the gateway without the complexity of managing routing and supplier relationships. This allows independent management of connections, offered services and commercial arrangements for your customers or downstream resellers.

Application-to-person (A2P) messaging is any kind of message sent from an application to a person.

A2P messaging is commonly originated from applications such as account verifications, network or application monitoring, marketing campaigns and appointment reminders. It is important that all A2P messaging complies with the ACMA Spam obligations as outlined here. LINK - https://www.acma.gov.au/Industry/Marketers/Anti-Spam

The VoiceHub SMS Gateway supports a system wide curfew preventing messages being sent which would break regulatory requirements in some countries. Messages sent during the curfew period will be queued and delivered at the end of the curfew period.

In association with our virtual number service, the VoiceHub SMS Gateway will deliver inbound SMS for hosted virtual mobile numbers.

Inbound SMS to hosted Mobile Subscriber Numbers (MSNs), in combination with any predefined keywords, will be delivered either through an existing SMPP bind, to an HTTP endpoint (REST API call), or to an email address. Control of inbound routing and the mechanism used to terminate the SMS is available to the customer through the SMS Gateway portal.

Two-way SMS is used to inform, interact and communicate with customers. A common example is a SMS request to confirm an appointment with the response sent through to automatically update the CRM.

Two-way SMS can also be used to supply real-time services or data to your customers – for example texting a keyword to obtain a short URL to further data.

A feature of the SMS Gateway is upon a SMS being delivered to a HTTP endpoint, any content in the body of the 200 OK response will be returned to the originator as a Mobile Terminating (MT) SMS. This greatly simplifies content delivery to the originator based on the sender (originator phone number) and keywords of the message.

The SMS Gateway also supports campaigns allowing customers to ‘opt-in’ to a service you may be providing. The opt-out mechanism is fully configurable per campaign allowing anti-spam obligations to be met. Campaigns, attached to an inbound number/keyword combination, allow you to communicate and interact with a subset of your customers in a concise and timely manner.

The SMPP protocol was designed to allow bulk SMS origination and termination. The VoiceHub SMPP implementation supports multiple binds per account allowing you to transmit and receive binds to be separated for additional throughput. With support for SMPP v3.4 the SMS Gateway also allow binds in transceiver mode to be established. Download a copy of our SMPP API spec here for implementation details and code examples.

Bulk SMS can also be sent directly through the SMS Gateway portal or via the REST API. With volume discounts and a throughput of up to 10k TPS the VoiceHub SMS Gateway can meet your bulk SMS termination requirements.

Integrate with the VoiceHub SMS Gateway through our simple REST API. This API exposes access to send and receive messages, check credit balances, receive DLRs, and updates to the status of sent messages. It is ideal for sending both bulk SMS messages and single messages.

Check out our REST API documentation containing all the required information and code examples.

Microsoft Teams Voice Calling

With VoiceHub, you can integrate voice calling with virtual numbers into Microsoft Teams and consolidate your communication channels into one platform.

This allows your team to manage chats, video calls, and phone calls seamlessly from a single interface, ultimately, simplifying communication and enhancing productivity.

Microsoft has developed, and is refining, the ‘Phone System’ feature within Microsoft Teams. VoiceHub can enable hosted PBX and call control capabilities within the Microsoft Teams environment.

Implementing the Phone System feature will allow an organisation to replace their existing legacy PBX with advanced voice functionality and features delivered from within Office 365.

To facilitate calls into, and out of, the Phone System within your Microsoft tenant, two options are available:

  • Microsoft Calling Plans – This uses the incumbent Telco call routing.
  • Direct Routing – This option allows the use of an independent telephony carrier for Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) connectivity. This option is both commercially favourable and allows flexibility and control in the way Microsoft Teams voice traffic is handled. Microsoft certifies a select list of SBC providers to ensure a highly reliable telephony solution for your cloud-calling deployment.

*Note that E1 or E3 licensed users will require an add-on Phone System license. The Phone System license is included in the E5 license.

The VoiceHub Direct Routing solution relies on diverse Microsoft Certified SBCs, hosted in the Microsoft Azure Cloud. Using these diverse SBCs and managed capacity, VoiceHub delivers calls into and out of your Teams Phone System with a guaranteed quality of service.

This solution can be white-labelled via a generic domain allowing this solution to be resold into any customer tenant.

In addition, VoiceHub offers a dedicated SBC resource for voice interconnection to Teams. This solution provides full flexibility with the SBCs customised to suit any requirement. An existing domain can be used within your tenant with minimal config within the Teams environment required.

Features:

  • Hosted in the Microsoft Azure Environment
  • Solution developed on Microsoft certified SBCs
  • Managed Access into the Azure environment from the VoiceHub network
  • Managed onward access to supplier and PSTN networks
  • Diversity through diverse Azure Regions
  • Full A-Z routing

Flexible Solution:

  • Provision of any Inbound numbers, either routed or ported, including virtual mobile numbers 13/18 and international access numbers
  • White-labeled via a generic domain
  • Dedicated SBC model – SBC dedicated for your use.*
  • Pricing
  • Bundled plans with minute inclusions
  • Pay for usage – channel and call cost based on A-Z
  • Split billing feed per tenant
  • Managed re-bill service if you do not own your own rating / billing system

* TLS certificate must be provided for the requested domain.

The configuration requirement within Microsoft Teams is minimal to implement direct routing within a customer tenant : addition of a defined domain and addition or modification of the voice routing policy.
