Pivotel takes home two awards for its innovative approach to rural and remote communications
Gold Coast based telecommunications provider, Pivotel, was the major winner at the 2021 Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards. The company took home the city’s overall Business of the Year Award, as well as the Mayor’s Innovation GC Award for its innovative approach to communication and connectivity services.
Pivotel is a global provider of rural, remote and critical communication solutions and supports more than 100,000 services around the globe. Pivotel connects a diverse range of customers, including individuals that live or travel in remote locations, and large enterprise and government organisations with operations in areas that have no mobile phone coverage.
Pivotel CEO Peter Bolger said the awards are the result of many years of research and development, as well as the ongoing dedication and commitment of all Pivotel employees and reflects the innovative thinking the organisation encourages.
“We’re honoured to be acknowledged for excellence at this year’s awards. We’re proud to be a Gold Coast based business and have been since inception. The city really has become a centre for business innovation, so we’re incredibly proud to be recognised alongside other local companies doing great things, both locally and abroad,” Mr Bolger said.
Despite another challenging year for many, Pivotel’s global customer base has continued to grow and the company’s recent success in international markets can be attributed to this locally developed innovation.
“We’re incredibly proud to be pioneering market-leading solutions right here on the Gold Coast, not only for the benefit of Australian customers, but it’s something we’ve successfully applied in a number of international markets. With customers and offices in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, North, Central and South America and Europe, Pivotel is quickly becoming a truly global business,” added Mr Bolger.
In the past 12 months, Pivotel has seen a remarkable 12.2% increase of total connected services globally. This significant increase in services has also seen a shift in where Pivotel’s customers are located. International markets now account for more than 40% of Pivotel’s overall business, an increase of more than 10 percentage points in the past 12 months.
“Our customers rely on Pivotel to provide services that give them a line of communication when they need it most, and we take that role very seriously. We’re incredibly proud that customers see the value in our products and services and choose to trust Pivotel to keep them safe and connected.” Mr Bolger said.
In 2020, Pivotel was also awarded the Mayor’s Innovation GC Award for the development of its Tracertrak worker safety and asset monitoring platform. Tracertrak brings communication and safety solutions once only available in the city, to businesses and government organisations operating in rural and remote environments.
