Simplex Satellite Data Services

Pivotel Simplex Satellite Data Services are message based data services that use simplex satellite devices for tracking, alarm and sensor monitoring, telemetry, security applications and environmental monitoring. Simplex Satellite Data Services are ideal where a "set and forget" solution is required with low frequency location or event based updates.

Simplex Satellite Data Services use the Globalstar satellite constellation and offer breakthrough power/battery performance and pricing. A range of simplex devices are available with line powered and battery operated options. Battery operated devices can operate for up to 7 years depending on the frequency of transmission.

Simplex Satellite Data Services are delivered directly to a Value Added Reseller (VAR) application in the format of a device report which is transmitted as an XML document from the Pivotel Services Gateway directly to the VAR server, making satellite network integration simple.

Short Burst Data Services

Pivotel Short Burst Satellite Data Services are 2 way, message based, data services that use Short Burst Data (SBD) devices for tracking, alarm and sensor monitoring, telemetry and environmental monitoring. Short Burst Data Services are ideal when a higher frequency report rate is required, or where an acknowledgement is required in mission critical situations.

Short Burst Data Services use the Iridium Satellite constellation and offer very low latency and a cost effective pricing model where higher frequency messaging is required, as well as the comfort of a return message path for acknowledgements. Short Burst Data services are available on a true global basis.

Short Burst Data messages are sent directly to the VAR application as a device report, transmitted as an XML document from the Pivotel Service Gateway (PSG) directy to the VAR server, thus no special integration with the satellite network is required.

Duplex Satellite Data Services

Pivotel Duplex Satellite Data Services are real time duplex data services that support Packet Data across the Internet or private networks. Using serial data modems that are available as OEM modules to be embedded into third party devices, Duplex Satellite Data Services use the Globalstar satellite constellation and offer a packet data solution for SCADA and telemetry devices without the coverage constraints of terrestrial mobile networks. Pivotel can support both public or private fixed IP addresses depending on the solution requirements.

Mobile Data Services

Pivotel Mobile Data Services are competitive services using a choice of two leading terrestrial mobile networks to deliver GPRS, UMTS (3G) and HSDPA packet data services. Pivotel Mobile Data Services enable Application Service Providers to provide tracking and telemetry services from inside the terrestrial network coverage area. Pivotel Mobile Data Services are SIM based and will work with any network approved GPRS 900/1800 or UMTS 2100 compatible device.
